With so many best places to travel, many travellers often get overwhelmed and worry they will something out. But fret not, I have narrowed down the Ho Chi Minh city’s top attractions which you can cover in just 2 days, as we did:

1. Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral

Although, we had one and half day in Ho Chi Minh city, we ensured that we visit this place. However, the place was under construction so we could not see its beauty from the inside. Located next to colossal trees 30-4 Park and the colonial post office, this stunning building is an architectural marvel to see. Built in the late 19th century, the materials used in its construction was imported from France. The gigantic statue offers a glimpse of bygone era in the city. Now, depending on the Ho Chi Minh city’s weather, you can cover the city entirely on foot as all the attractions are closely packed together.

2. Independence Palace

If you are a history buff, you are going to love this place. The Independence Palace is also known as Reunification Palace is one of the best places to explore in Vietnam. It is famous for the photographs of Tanks crashing through the gates in 1975 during the Fall of Saigon. The exterior of the building is located in the middle of a large garden sprawling through acres. The architecture is simple yet admirable. The interiors of the palace has palatial rooms, conference halls, dining halls, and lots of vintage furniture kept as it must have been in the bygone era.

There is also a bomb bunker in the basement, where you can see the maps and the radio frequency devices.

3. War Remnants Museum

Not for the faint hearted, this museum in the Ho Chi Minh city will leave a bitter taste in your mouth about the humanity. The museum is the constant reminder of the horror of wars between United States of America and Vietnam in 1955. For many people, the Vietnam War happened in the faraway time and place, but the locals are still facing its affects.

The museum has different floors dedicated to distinguish theme. On second floor, the section is dedicated to the horror of wars that will definitely shake you to your core. When we entered inside the atmosphere was so gloomy that we instantly felt like making an exit. However, when we starting looking at the pictures of war and the horrific acts inflicted upon the Vietnamese people by the USA army, we could not control our tears.

The museum would compel all the visitors across the globe to look at the struggles endured by the Vietnamese people and how the war changed this nation. The longing effect that this place has on visitors makes it one of the best places to visit in Vietnam.

P:S- There is a huge bell installed outside in the museum complex in the honour of Vietnamese people who lost their lives in the war. Do not forget to pay your homage to all the innocent souls.

4. The Cu Chi Tunnels

The Cu Chi Tunnels are among the best places to visit in Vietnam and a must-see when exploring Ho Chi Minh City. This vast underground network played a crucial role during the Vietnam War, serving as hideouts, supply routes, and living quarters for soldiers. Visitors can explore a portion of these tunnels, gaining a deeper understanding of the resilience and resourcefulness of the Vietnamese people.
